My Passion for Coaching --- I'm Ready to Take Clients!
It's been slow going for me since graduating with my health coach certification.
Really it's been because I haven't had the time or capacity to truly start!
I was working 3 jobs when I first graduated--2 nurse jobs (one hospital contract and one private duty position) and an at-home position from my computer in property management. I finally finished my nursing contract at the hospital in April! And planned on starting my coaching then. I didn't realize that I would be so completely burnt out and exhausted and in need of rest after that contract ended. 😓 After taking a few weeks break, I realized that having 2 jobs and being a mom of 2, as well as a host mom for an exchange student, I was still stretched too thin. Which led to me taking a few months break from coaching and try to figure out how to fit it into my life in the best way.
So-- I've finally started figuring it out.
I have officially put in my notice to quit my 2nd job! So I will be left with my one nursing job, which is 2 night shifts per week, and a little bit of free time to put into my coaching sessions. :) I have a link on my instagram page where anyone can sign up for a session now. I only have a few hours open on Thursday afternoons. But hey, we all start somewhere, right?
My 12 months in training at the Functional Medicine Coaching Academy was truly incredible. I learned sooo much about how to be a coach! Skills I never realized could be so effective in helping inspire someone to change. My program focused mostly on positive psychology, intrinsic motivation, the process of change, etc, etc, etc.
This is real, deep stuff. This is not a "quick fix" solution.
This is helping people make true, lasting, real lifestyle changes that will change their lives.
For a whole year, I met with a cohort weekly and we practice coached each other for 2 hours straight. That's around 100 hours that we put into practice coaching each other and also getting to role play as the client.
We brought our real life issues to the table when we role-played as clients. We set real goals together. We made huge strides together! Coaching my wonderful cohort-mates lit a fire in my heart, and made me realize what a HUGE difference a health coach can make in someone's life. How huge of an impact they made in my life each week. In fact, I have been missing it these last few months.
In today's society it's so easy to look for a quick solution to our problems. What's the next fad, what's the next product to buy. So many "solutions" are one click away. Our attention spans are getting shorter and shorter.
But, we all know that to reap bigger rewards, it will take more work. It will take consistency, dedication, and you know what? help, from other people.
If you want to make some true changes, reach out to me. I'm pretty sure I was born for this.
